Grapevine Rotary members plan and volunteer at GCISD's Special Olympics every year.  Members volunteer as cheer leaders, huggers, timers, and many other functions at this heartwarming event.  Grapevine Rotary also hosts all participants, their families, and coaches to a post-event awards ceremony where every athlete is awarded their very special medal.

The Grapevine Rotary Club has a sister club relationship with the Rotary Club in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico. The Grapevine Club has donated a school bus and an ambulance to its sister club in Acuna with Javier Rodriquez helping to deliver the ambulance and Gary Fickes the school bus. Grapevine Rotarians have donated heaters and computers for the classrooms and have joined the Del Rio Rotary club in helping to paint the school.

For each of the major holidays, Rotary members line the streets of Historic Downtown Grapevine with dozens of US Flags.  These flags signify both the community's patriotism, as well as that of the Grapevine Rotary.

During both Grapefest & Main Street Days, Rotarians volunteer to staff various beverage booths.  The City presents the Rotary Club with a check for their support.  These funds are used for scholarships and other Rotary projects.

• Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
• Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders
• Encourage leadership of youth by youth
• Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities

 

The Grapevine Rotary Club awards college scholarships to high school students graduating from local schools.  Through an innovative partnership with UNT and Tarrant County Community Colleges, students who receive this award have the opportunity to receive this scholarship for up to 4 years.

Grapevine Middle School students may enter an essay contest to receive a new computer in their homes.  Rotary members refurbish donated computers, as well as purchase new machines.  GRACE assists in this project by providing new and updated software programs.  All students receive the system installed and ready to go!  To view the some pictures of the installations, click LinkClick.aspx

GRACE (Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange) is a local social service agency working to meet the needs of families in crisis in the North East Tarrant County area.  The agency provides food, clothing, rent assistance, transitional housing, medical clinic, and a kids summer lunch program.  The Grapevine Rotary Club has supported this agency in many ways including, donated computer equipment, general fund contributions, and assistance in building the new Food Pantry and Community Health Clinic.

Committed to the preservation and faithful stewardship of Grapevine’s historic resources, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation also has its roots in the advocacy, education and outreach to the citizens of the community as well as the thousands of visitors who explore our city each year.  The Grapevine Rotary Club raises much needed funds to support their efforts, as well as volunteers at some of their events and activities each year.
